Skoda Auto India has enjoyed impressive sales figures recently and it is also celebrating its completion of 10 years in India. And the future of Skoda India also promises to be exciting. To keep up the momentum, Skoda is planning to introduce 7 new models by the year 2013.
The first car to be rolling out in the new road map from Skoda will be the Skoda Laura RS, a sportier version of current Laura, coming out in a couple of months. Next car is based on the Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid or whatever they decide to call it, will hopefully come by end-2011 or early-2012. Though to be cheaper than Vento, we hear the Rapid will not compromise on quality and space. The year 2012 will bring the stripped down version of the company’s best-selling SUV, Skoda Yeti. Less on power and features, the Skoda Yeti will also be lighter on the purse to appeal to a wider range of customers.
The year 2012 would also play host to the introduction of Skoda Fabia Scout and the next-gen Skoda Octavia. Skoda Fabia Scout is a beefed up version of the current Fabia, pumped up in size and power to act as a mini-SUV. The next-gen Octavia will also make a comeback to the Indian roads. Apart from these, Skoda has got plans to introduce two small cars in 2013, for which the R&D is currently deployed on a full scale.
